Botanist — IGMA Researcher

IGMA Event Area

Maya is part of IGMA (International Garden Monitoring Agency) and is conducting research on mutated plants on the island. She gives you collection tasks: grow a plant with a specific mutation (Sandy, Snowy, Shocked, etc.) and reach a minimum weight threshold, then deliver it to her. You don't need a single fruit at the target weight — you can hand in multiple fruits with the correct mutation and their weights add up. Use the "Donate All Matching Crops" button to turn in all matching fruits at once. Rewards scale with mutation rarity — common mutations (Foggy, Sandy, Snowy) give 1 pack, rare mutations (Shocked) give 2 packs, and extreme mutations (Starstruck) give 3 packs. After the first delivery, a research counter starts at 40 and decreases by 1 per task. The IGMA event runs for 14 days. Known sample requests and rewards: 2 kg Foggy → 1 pack, 1.5 kg Sandy → 1 pack, 1.5 kg Snowy → 1 pack, 0.8 kg Shocked → 2 packs, 0.8 kg Starstruck → 3 packs. Maya also offers an Appraisal service: hold a fruit and pay Shillings for a random chance to apply a mutation to it. The appraisal success rate was increased in a recent update but remains low — use sparingly on high-value crops only.

Collection Tasks

Maya gives you collection tasks requesting mutated fruits at specific weight thresholds. You don't need a single fruit at the target weight — hand in multiple fruits and their weights add up.

Appraisal Service

Maya can appraise a fruit you're holding — pay Shillings for a chance to apply a random mutation. The appraisal success rate was buffed but is still not guaranteed. Generally not cost-effective for common mutations — save it for high-value crops where a mutation would dramatically increase the sell price.

  • Hold a fruit and talk to Maya to start appraisal
  • Pay Shillings (cost varies) for a random mutation chance
  • Success is NOT guaranteed — you can lose Shillings with no result
  • Botanist's Blessing gamepass gives 20% cheaper appraisals + higher mutation chance
  • Best used on: Lush crops near Lush that would benefit from any mutation
  • Worst used on: cheap common crops — the appraisal cost exceeds potential gain

Research Counter

After your first delivery to Maya, a research counter starts at 40 and decreases by 1 with each completed task. What happens when the counter reaches 0 is still unknown — the IGMA event may conclude or unlock a special reward.

  • Counter starts at 40 after first delivery
  • Decreases by 1 per completed task
  • Counter is per-player, not shared
  • What happens at 0 remains a mystery

IGMA Seed Pack Contents

IGMA Seed Packs contain 5 exclusive plants not available anywhere else. These plants range from common to legendary rarity and include unique multi-harvest species.

  • Starvine — Common multi-harvest (4 fruits, fast 8 min grow)
  • Biohazard Melon — Uncommon multi-harvest (4 fruits)
  • Lablush Berry — Rare multi-harvest (5 fruits)
  • Radiant Petal — Epic multi-harvest (1 fruit, 75 min grow)
  • Octobranch — Legendary multi-harvest (8 fruits, 60 min grow, 0.5% drop rate)

Pro Tips

Pro Tips

  • Maya asks for a specific mutation + minimum weight (e.g. 1.5 kg Sandy, 0.8 kg Shocked).
  • You can hand in multiple fruits — their weight adds up! No need for one huge fruit.
  • Use the "Donate All Matching Crops" button to deliver all matching fruits at once.
  • Harder mutations give more packs — Foggy/Sandy/Snowy = 1 pack, Shocked = 2, Starstruck = 3.
  • Since v1.2.0, Maya now accepts combined mutations (Muddy, Frostbit, Mossy) — previously only single mutations worked.
  • After your first delivery, Maya starts a research counter at 40 samples remaining.
  • Each completed task reduces the counter by 1 — what happens at 0 is still unknown.
  • Mutation and weight requirements change with each task — check Maya for your current assignment.
  • Use stacked sprinklers (Basic + Turbo + Super) to hit the weight targets more easily.
  • The IGMA event runs for 14 days (2 weeks) — farm as many packs as you can!
  • Appraisal: Maya can appraise a fruit you're holding — pay Shillings for a chance to apply a random mutation. Appraisal rate was buffed but success is still not guaranteed. Generally not cost-effective for common mutations.
