The Sprinkler Method is the current meta for making money in Garden Horizons, officially enabled since Patch 1.0.14. By stacking all three sprinkler types on your crops you can dramatically boost weight — and weight is the single biggest factor in how much a plant sells for.
This guide covers two core strategies that use the same sprinkler setup: the Cabbage Method (single-harvest, max weight → millions per crop) and the Potato Method (multi-harvest, variant farming → Silver/Gold → millions). Whether you are planting your first sprinkler or chasing Gold Lush Cabbages worth $50M+, this is the definitive money-making resource.

Before — sprinklers placed with overlapping ranges on a fresh plot.

After — the same plot with fully grown, sprinkler-boosted crops.
💦 What You Need (Prerequisites)
Before you start sprinkler farming, make sure you have the following items ready. Higher rarity seeds benefit the most from the weight boost, so Rare rarity and above is recommended.
Seeds
| Seed | Price | Harvest Type | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| $150,000 | Single | S-tier — highest weight scaling, biggest payouts | |
| $12,000 | Single | 30 Wheat + sprinklers = ~$70M in one session | |
| $2,500 | Single | Cheap in bulk — great filler around premium crops | |
| $100,000 | Multi | Best multi-harvest for variant farming | |
| $10,000 | Multi | Budget-friendly multi-harvest option |
Sprinklers
You need all three sprinkler types — they stack with each other for maximum effect. Buy them from Molly.
| Sprinkler | Price | Duration | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| $15,000 | 5 min | Base watering boost | |
| $60,000 | 10 min | Medium watering boost | |
| $100,000 | 15 min | Maximum watering boost |
Watering Cans & Other Gear
Watering Can — pack of 5 for $5,000. Use as a backup for when sprinklers expire. Placing 3 in the same spot may stack for extra speed.
Favoriting Tool — essential for protecting your most valuable plants so they don't get trampled or accidentally harvested.

🛠️ Sprinkler Setup — The Foundation
The key to the Sprinkler Method is stacking different sprinkler types so their ranges overlap on the same crop. Here's how to set it up:
Find a wide open space on your plot
You need enough room for a dense crop cluster surrounded by sprinklers. Clear out any low-value plants first.
Place Turbo Sprinkler in the centre
Start with the Turbo Sprinkler in the middle of your planting area — it has the medium range and duration.
Place Super Sprinkler just outside it
Position the Super Sprinkler slightly offset from the Turbo — you cannot stack two sprinklers on the exact same tile, but their ranges should overlap.
Ring of Basic Sprinklers for full coverage
Place Basic Sprinklers in a ring around the outside to ensure every tile in your cluster is covered by all three types.
Plant seeds as tight as possible in the overlap zone
Plant your seeds densely where all three sprinkler types overlap. The tighter you pack them, the more crops benefit from the full boost.
Sprinkler range comparison — each type covers a different area:

Basic Sprinkler — small range, 5 min

Turbo Sprinkler — medium range, 10 min

Super Sprinkler — largest range, 15 min

🥬 The Cabbage Method — Single Harvest Millions
The Cabbage Method is the star of sprinkler farming. Cabbage has the highest base weight (1.1 kg) and legendary rarity, which means the weight boost from sprinklers scales its value to millions per crop.
Step by Step
Plant Cabbage seeds in sprinkler range
Each Cabbage seed costs $150,000 — an expensive investment, but the returns are enormous. Plant them in the overlapping zone of all three sprinklers.

Place Watering Cans for extra speed
Drop up to 3 Watering Cans on the same spot for the stacking trick. This shaves time off the growth cycle.
Wait for full growth + mutations
Growth phase: ~30 min with full sprinkler stack (4.16× speed boost reduces base 130 min to ~31 min). Ripening to Lush: 2–3 hours on top of that (now works offline since v1.2.0!). Budget 3–4 hours total for a fully Lush Cabbage ready to sell — you can log off during ripening. Chase weather events for mutation stacking while online — even one Shocked (4.5×) multiplies your payout by 4.5×.
Collect and sell to Steve
Harvest your cabbages and take them to Steve to sell. The profit depends on weight, mutations, and variant level.
Cabbage Profit Table
Real-world numbers from community testing and video evidence. The largest cabbage (Shocked + Mossy) sold for $18 million. One batch of cabbages totaled $79 million.
| Weight | No Mutations | Lush (3×) | Frostbit+Foggy+Lush | All Mutations | All + Gold |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2.1 kg (small) | ~$200k | ~$650k | ~$2.6M | ~$10.4M | ~$50M |
| 4.16 kg (large) | ~$400k | ~$1.2M | ~$5M | ~$25M | ~$82M (Silver) |

Seed Tier List for Sprinkler Method
Not every crop benefits equally from sprinkler weight boosting. Here is how they rank:
| Tier | Crop | Why |
|---|---|---|
| S-Tier | 1.1 kg base, legendary rarity, highest weight scaling in the game | |
| A-Tier | Great weight scaling and strong base prices | |
| B-Tier | Beetroot ($2,000 base, great in bulk) · Rose ($10k, budget multi-harvest option) | |
| C-Tier | Too cheap — sprinkler investment not worth it for low-value crops |
Beetroot Profit Table (3× Sprinklers + Lush)
Real measured sell prices for Beetroot using all three sprinkler types, harvested at Lush (3×). The base weight (0.09 kg) row shows the no-sprinkler baseline for comparison. Mutation multipliers are applied on top of the Lush value.
| Weight | Lush (no mut.) | + Flooded ×1.75 | + Shocked ×4.5 | + Starstruck ×6.5 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.09 kg (no sprinklers) | $6,000 | ~$10,500 | ~$27,000 | ~$39,000 |
| 0.18 kg | $23,758 | ~$41,600 | ~$107,000 | ~$154,000 |
| 0.20 kg | $29,692 | ~$52,000 | ~$134,000 | ~$193,000 |
| 0.32 kg | $76,328 | ~$133,600 | ~$343,500 | ~$496,000 |

🥔 The Potato Method — Variant Farming
The Potato Method is a targeted farming strategy to force-farm Silver and Gold variants. It uses the same sprinkler setup as above but exploits the fact that multi-harvest crops regrow immediately after harvesting, giving you repeated chances at rare color variants.
ℹ️ Why Potato?

Gold Potato — Lush (3.0×) + Gold (5.0×) = the jackpot.

Close-up of a massive Gold Lush Potato grown with full sprinkler boost.
Step by Step
Plant Potatoes in a tight cluster + sprinklers
Use the same three-sprinkler setup. Plant Potato seeds in the overlapping zone in a tight cluster.
Harvest everything
Once fully grown, harvest all the fruit from your potato plants.
Use Shovel to delete non-Silver/Gold fruit
Inspect each fruit. If it's a regular (no color variant) potato, delete the fruit with the Shovel. Do NOT delete the plant itself — only the harvested fruit.
Fruit regrows in ~8 minutes — repeat
Potato fruit regrows every ~8 minutes (fruitRegrowSeconds: 500). Harvest again, check for Silver/Gold, delete non-variants, repeat. Do this for 10–15 minutes to accumulate variants.
End result: garden full of Silver/Gold potatoes
After enough cycles you'll have a plot full of oversized Silver and Gold potatoes sitting in the ground, still benefiting from sprinklers.
Wait for mutations + sell to Steve
Let your variants ripen to Lush, chase mutations during weather events, then sell everything to Steve for massive profits.

ℹ️ Weight matters more than color variant
⚠️ Critical: Don't delete the PLANT
⚡ Maximizing Mutations
While your sprinkler crops grow, weather events will trigger mutations that multiply the final sell price. Here are the mutations to chase:
| Mutation | Multiplier | Trigger | Priority |
|---|---|---|---|
| ☄️ Meteoric | 10× | Meteor Shower ☄️ | Highest |
| ⭐ Starstruck | 6.5× | Starfall 🌠 | Very High |
| 💫 Nova | TBA | Black Hole 🕳️ (unreleased) | TBA |
| 🟫 Muddy | 5× | Rain + Sand combo | High |
| ⚡ Shocked | 4.5× | Thunderstorm ⛈️ | High |
| 🧊 Frostbit | 3.5× | Rain + Snow combo | Medium |
| 🌿 Mossy | 3.5× | Fog + Snow combo | Medium |
| 🌫️ Foggy | 1.25× | Fog | Low (filler) |
ℹ️ Best natural mutation combo
Value formula reminder: Base Price × Weight² × MutationMult × Ripening × Color Variant, where MutationMult = Σ(mult_i) + 1 − n. Each additional mutation adds slightly less than its face value (due to the −n term), but is still very worthwhile — Foggy (1.25×) as a second mutation still adds 0.25× to the total.

💡 Tips & Common Mistakes

A favorited Cabbage (star icon) with Lush + Muddy + Foggy mutations — protected and ready for harvest.
✅ Do This
- ✓Space sprinklers apart: Different types stack but they cannot sit on the same tile. Offset each one slightly.
- ✓Favorite valuable plants immediately: Use the Favoriting Tool on your best crops right away to protect them from being trampled.
- ✓Use the GIFT code for a free sprinkler set: No reason not to — it saves you $175,000 on your first setup.
- ✓Plan around sprinkler duration: Growth and ripening work offline since v1.2.0, but sprinkler timers still tick down — maximize their effect while online.
❌ Avoid These Mistakes
- ✗Don't use the same sprinkler type twice: Two Basic Sprinklers = no stacking benefit. Use one of each type.
- ✗Don't let sprinklers expire without backup: Keep Watering Cans ready to drop if your sprinklers run out mid-session.
- ✗Don't delete the Potato PLANT instead of FRUIT: The Shovel trick deletes the harvested fruit — not the in-ground plant. Deleting the plant costs you the crop.
- ✗Don't harvest cabbages before Lush: Selling a non-Lush cabbage is a massive waste. Always wait for the 3× bonus.
