Fastest Route to Every Forgotten Isle Seed — Full 10-Plant Unlock Guide

Optimal unlock order for all ten Forgotten Isle seeds — from Cactus with the starter Knife all the way to the Mythic Isle Relic Tree. Which tool each plant needs, which seed unlocks which gate, the pool-hole shortcut to the hidden Crystal patch, and the jump-on-the-tree trick that makes the Isle Relic Tree solo-farmable without dying to Tribal Warriors.

This is the fastest known route to unlock every one of the ten Forgotten Isle seeds — from the free starter Cactus all the way to the Mythic Isle Relic Tree. The order matters because each tool unlocks a specific tier of plant, and one seed (Lava) doubles as a key that opens the gate to the final tree.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Step 1 — Cactus (free Knife). The moment you finish the boat trip you land in the first area. Cactus nodes are absolutely everywhere here. Cut one with the Knife you spawned with. You now have a stack of Cactus Seeds to start planting on your six island plots. Cactus is the tutorial gate: farming it is what earns your first Pearls, which you spend on the Machete.

Step 2 & 3 & 4 — Machete tier (Prickly Pear, Barrel Cactus, Sea Bamboo). Head up to the top level. Clear the melee enemies in your way — Bandit two-shots with the Machete. Three plants live on this stretch: Prickly Pear (Uncommon), Barrel Cactus (Uncommon — this is the important one, because chopping Barrel Cactus is what triggers the gate that opens the upper level), and Sea Bamboo (Rare) near the camp.

Step 5 — Lunar Plant (Scimitar). With the gate open, walk through into the third level. Straight ahead you'll see the Lunar Plant glowing across a small stone-hopping section. Buy the Scimitar from Capt' Roger (8,000 Pearls) — it's the only tool that breaks Legendary Cutting nodes. Hop the stones and cut the Lunar Plant.

Step 6 — Coconut (Machete works). On the same third level near Lunar Plant, the coconut trees have their own resource nodes. Since Coconut is a Machete-tier plant, no extra tool needed if you brought one along.

Step 7 & 8 — Mining tier (Geode Bloom, Crystal). Four seeds live on this third-level stretch. Move further in and you'll find Geode Bloom — this is a Mining node, not Cutting, so you need the Pickaxe (2,000 Pearls, Rare). A little further along is Crystal, also Pickaxe-only. Crystal is the single best early-game Pearl earner because the nodes respawn fast and the seeds sell well.

Step 9 — Lava seed (GoldScimitar). Head to the volcano area, past a run of bandit spawns (use cover — this is where Pirate and Tribal Warrior start showing up). You need the GoldScimitar (30,000 Pearls, Legendary) for Lava. Two reasons to prioritise it: Lava is the second best money-maker after Crystal, and the Lava seed itself is the key that unlocks the gate to the Isle Relic Tree.

The Hidden Pool Route to Isle Relic Tree

This is the trick most players miss. Jump into the pool you were on before on the third level. Go through the hole at the bottom, turn back on yourself, and swim back up — you emerge in a hidden section with a bunch more Crystal spawns (bonus Pickaxe farm), and at the far end there's a gate that opens with a Lava seed. Use one Lava seed on the gate to reach the Isle Relic Tree area.

Step 10 — Isle Relic Tree (the jump-on-tree tactic)

Do not try to fight the Tribal Warriors around the Isle Relic Tree — they throw Spears at 30-stud range and there are too many. Instead, equip the CrystalPickaxe (150,000 Pearls, Mythical) and jump onto the tree itself. Enemies below cannot reach you.

Two things to watch out for: (1) every pickaxe hit knocks you down slightly, so you will fall between hits; (2) if you keep jumping between hits you'll reach the top branch and enemies can't hit you at all. From the top, pickaxe away freely to collect Isle Relic Tree Seeds — the rarest, most valuable seed in the whole game.

Total Pearl Investment

  • Machete 500
  • Pickaxe 2,000
  • Scimitar 8,000
  • GoldScimitar 30,000
  • CrystalPickaxe 150,000
  • Total: 190,500 Pearls for the full six-tool set

Realistic pacing: expect 30 to 60 minutes to hit Machete/Pickaxe (Cactus grinding), 2 to 4 hours to reach Scimitar (via chests + Bandit kills + first Machete node cycles), several full sessions to reach GoldScimitar, and CrystalPickaxe is a real endgame goal.
