Shovel
All players start with a Shovel automatically — it is a default item given at the start and cannot be removed from your inventory. Use it to remove a planted crop or individual fruit permanently, freeing up plot slots. Also enables the advanced Variant Farming method: on multi-harvest plants (like Potato), delete non-Silver/non-Gold regrown fruit with the Shovel, forcing the plant to regrow with a fresh variant roll. Repeat during active sprinklers to fill your garden with Silver and Gold variant fruits worth millions. ⚠️ Nerf: fruit regrow after shoveling now takes 10+ seconds (previously 1–2 seconds instantly) — Variant Farming is significantly slower than before.

💡 Pro Tip
Critical for Variant Farming: always check the tooltip says "Potato Fruit" NOT "Potato Plant" before clicking — deleting the plant itself is permanent and irreversible. Due to the 10+ second regrow nerf, focus on plants with the highest value per roll (Potato, Cherry) to maximise the slower cycle. Stay away from valuable nearby trees (e.g. Dawn Blossom) while using this method.
